There is no substitute for fulfillment in life.Fulifillment in life, however may be a function of a chosen career and the ability to exploit the unlimited possibilities for development in the chosen career.
Consequently, the importance of Divine guidance in choosing a life career cannot be over-emphasized.
Today in the world some people,to know their future seek horoscope, palm reading,fortune-telling and other satanic practices.
Choosing a career by Divine guidance from God only brings fulfillment in life. The consequence of not seeking divine guidance can lead to lifetime regrets.Hence the need for God’s guidance in choosing life career cannot be over-emphasized.
God leads in diverse ways and manner. Some of the ways God leads include among others the following:dreams and visions, circumstances,Spirit confirmation in the mind (intuitive perception),Scriptural revelation, receiving counseling from godly and God- fearing parents or guardians and ministers when in doubts about anything.
In other to be able to follow God’s will in career self-will,self-ambitions and passions must be conquered and put under control.
Only service-oriented career brings fulfillment and profitability.Educational certificates or degrees are not “Almighty formulae” for success. To be able to make an outstanding contribution to your society and success without certificates you need to seek God’s wisdom. To excel in a chosen career some requirement are necessary. These includes:
Goal setting and planning:Success does not happen until you set a goal.Goal-setting is the necessary pointer to keep man moving in the right direction.Set goals and reach out for your goals. In your career determine specific goals you want to achieve.Have workable plans.
Courage to conquer all odds:Overcome your worry, doubt and fear.Whip worry and face the facts that worry always destroys and never helps.Dominate your doubts and don’t yield to them, you will be successful in your chosen career.
Fight fear with faith and with the facts.Try not to flee from your fears face them with facts aggressively.
Development of personal intuition and self-disciplined: “He who lives without discipline dies without honor.”Icelandic proverb.Indiscipline is an enemy of success. No indisciplined man ever ends up distinguished in life chosen career.
Motivate and inspire yourself:Paul J. Meyer states; “No matter who you are or what your age may be, if you want to achieve permanent, sustaining success, the motivation that will drive you toward that goal must come from within. It must be personal,deep-rooted and a part of your inner-most thoughts. All other motivation, the excitement of a crowd, the stimulation of a pep-talk,the exihilarating of a passing circumstance is external and temporary. It will not last.”
Believe in yourself:You must believe in yourself that you can succeed in that chosen career because you are better than you think you are.It does not matter what other people thnk of you,of your plans,or of your aims, you must believe in yourself.
Give your best to the work: Pay the price. As we sow so we reap our results are directly proportionate to the effort we put forth. Therefore pay the price for success in your chosen career by giving your best to the work.
Think positively and act positively:There is nothing so important in your life as your mental attitude towards yourself, what you think of your career, the model which you hold of yourself and your possibilities. You must have a positive conviction that you can attain success in your chosen career.
Enthusiasm to make the difference among contemporaries:Enthusiasm will open a door when other keys fail. Horace Greeley states that “The best product of labor is the high-minded workman, with a enthusiasm for his work.”
Trust in God for success: “A happy, contended, successful career must flow from a well-balanced, symmetrical mind, which has a sense of absolute security and unquestioned faith in the Great Creator, the providing and sustain power.”says Marden.
